Our Story

As a non-profit, it is our passionate mission to engage students and educators in understanding various perspectives across time and place through the humanities and immersive technologies.

We Understand. We’ve Been There.

For every...

...teacher who's heard, "This is boring!" or "I don't understand" and strives to meet the needs of all learners.
...student who's couldn't or wouldn't read in class.
...administrator who searches for engaging ways to motivate students and staff.
...parent who has struggled to get their child to see something from others' perspectives.
...citizens who believe the humanities are an "extra" in schools.

There’s Got to be an Easier Way

The Institute for Learning Perspectives is a non-profit organization committed to being your one-stop-shop for immersive humanities resources.  You’ll find apps, digital and physical products, and related curriculum resources in history, literature, and the arts. We know that content is a partner with great teaching, which is why we offer support in the latest technologies, content, and instruction through a variety of professional learning opportunities and consulting services.

We Promise...

...to honor children and their development, interests, and safety.

...to provide quality, creative, and equitable immersive technology content with multiple perspectives that are based on sound scholarship.

...to support educators through training, curriculum services, and resources that honor their time, needs, and budgets.

...to respect the time and resources provided by our supporters by operating with the utmost transparency.

Our Team

Our co-founders Stephen Cure and Debbie Rohlmeier have nearly 60 years of combined experience in multiple roles relating to humanities education. In that time, educational technology has come a long way, but the power of immersive technologies such as augmented and virtual reality are game-changers. Working with a first-class Board of Directors from various perspectives and expertise in education, business, the humanities, and technology, our staff look forward to providing the tools necessary for students and their educators to seek a deeper understanding of the humanities in the 21st century.
